Acknowledging Excellent Contributions

At the recent delegates meeting Golf West Gippsland thanked Fran Renehan and Kaye Middlemiss for their excellent contributions to the district.

Fran Renehan became involved in 2018 as delegate of the Women’s Golf West Gippsland Association (WGWG) and participated in the process to form Golf West Gippsland (GWG), when West Gippsland District Golf Association (WGDGA) the Men’s and Women’s Golf West Gippsland (WGWG) merged.   At the November 2018 first meeting of Golf West Gippsland Inc Fran was elected president and served for 3 years in that role followed by 3 years as Secretary for a total of 8 years working for the district in some capacity.

Over the years Fran developed an excellent knowledge of the clubs and the workings of the district.  At the recent meeting current chairperson, Will Hanrahan thanked Fran for her dedication to the district and to golf over many years, “Fran has been incredibly dedicated and professional in whatever role she has undertaken, she was always willing to share her knowledge and wisdom and made very significant contributions to important the amalgamation process and review of the GWG constitution”.

In response Fran said that “I have loved my time working for the district, I’m proud of what has been achieved and grateful for the valuable friendships I have made over the years, people at the clubs have been great to work with”.

Kaye Middlemiss served as the Women’s Captain for GWG for the last 3 and a half years and did it all with a smile on her face.  Kaye took on the club captaincy at Moe this year and agreed to continue with GWG until the role was filled which demonstrates her commitment to golf and the district.  Will thanked Kaye for her service and commitment to the district, “Kaye has been instrumental in establishing Women’s Week-end Pennant, she has managed the Women’s Country Week Team and generally created a positive vibe at golf wherever she is involved.

In response Kaye said that “I have loved my time working for the district, everyone has been great to work with, and we have had a lot of fun.  I’m pleased that we have established Women’s Week-end Pennant, thanks to everyone who has helped along the way”.
